Our Mission

We believe children deserve better than what the market offers alone. Appguiden.no was started because parents and kindergarten teachers need a reliable source not driven by ads or algorithmic promotion. Our mission is to create a curated collection of apps actually worth children's time and attention.

Vision

Children and parents should be able to find and use apps that strengthen learning, creativity, and well-being – without manipulation from advertising or poor design.

Who runs this?

Appguiden is run by educators, parents, and technologists who believe curation beats chaos. We take no money from app developers or ad networks.

Our editorial team consists of:

• Educators with experience from kindergartens and schools who understand developmental psychology and learning theories
• Parents who navigate the screen time dilemma daily and know what works in practice
• Technologists who analyze privacy, data collection, and design patterns in apps

Our Method

Each app we recommend goes through a thorough evaluation process:

• Manuell testing: We use the app ourselves with the intended age group
• Strukturert vurdering: We score apps based on educational quality, safety, design, and business model
• Transparent poenggiving: Our scoring system (50% editorial review, 30% safety, 10% design quality, 10% user rating) is transparent and explained
• Løpende oppfølging: We update reviews when apps change or new versions are released

Independence

We take no payment from app developers to be listed or ranked. Appguiden.no is funded by private donors and non-commercial organizations who share our vision of a better digital landscape for children. All recommendations are based solely on editorial evaluation.
